Leicestershire Community Grassroots Group Invited to Uptonsteel Grace Road

The atmosphere was electric as Leicestershire CCC claimed the top position in the table with a stunning victory against Somerset, supported by grassroots groups from the marquee. Around 100 people, including many children, attended the Metro One Day Cup match on Sunday, August 2nd, as part of the event organized by Shockat Adam (MP) to highlight LCCC's efforts to welcome diverse communities to Uptonsteel Grace Road.
Shockat Adam (MP) welcomed the group with a few words, while Emma White (LCCC Chief Executive) stopped by to chat. Claude Henderson (Director of Cricket) hosted a Q&A session with Ajaz Patel, the New Zealand star cricketer famous for taking 10 wickets against India.
The groups had a fantastic time, and Emma White described the event as a great success. "We would like to thank Shockat for organising the visit. It was great to chat with so many people, and hopefully, based on the feedback, many will visit Grace Road in the future. Thanks to Claude and Ajaz for hosting the event and taking the time to interact with the groups."
