Ben Mike to leave Leicestershire

Leicestershire County Cricket Club can confirm that academy graduate Ben Mike will leave the Club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of this month, bringing to an end an association spanning more than a decade.

Mike progressed through the Leicestershire pathway before signing his first professional contract with the Club in August 2018.

After spending the 2023 season with Yorkshire, the all-rounder returned to Leicestershire ahead of the 2024 campaign and went on to make 137 appearances for the Foxes across all three formats during his eight seasons with the senior side.

Reflecting on his time with the Club, Mike said:

“I want to thank everyone at the Club for all the support throughout my journey. Having spent more than 10 years here on and off, Leicestershire really does feel like home and has shaped a huge part of my life.

"I feel lucky to have experienced some great successes and silverware with the club. Memories that I will remember forever. Seeing two close friends, and Leicestershire lads, Harry Swindells and Sam Evans help win a trophy for the club has to be a highlight. Lastly, although the last few years have been difficult with injuries and periods of not playing as much as I would have liked, so I also want to give a special thank you to the sports science team for all their work with me, and to the supporters for their patience and support"

“We want to thank Ben for everything he has contributed during his time with Leicestershire and wish him every success for the next chapter of his career.”
