Foxes Sign Mohammed Rizvi on Short-Term Deal

Leicestershire Foxes have signed leg-spinning all-rounder Mohammed Rizvi on a two-week deal, with the option to extend his stay for the remainder of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
The 28-year-old joins the Foxes after spending part of the season representing the Club's Second XI, where he impressed during the SET20 campaign, including returning figures of 3/27 against Derbyshire.
A right-handed batter and leg-spinner, Rizvi was part of the original intake at the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA) when it was established in 2022. His performances earned him a professional opportunity with Kent in August 2025, becoming the 17th player to graduate from SACA into the professional game.
During his time with Kent, Rizvi made six List A appearances in the Metro Bank One Day Cup before making his first-class debut in the Rothesay County Championship against Lancashire at Canterbury in September.
Following the completion of his contract, Rizvi returned to SACA ahead of the 2026 season and has since represented North Middlesex Cricket Club in the Middlesex Premier League, as well as Cambridgeshire in both the Minor Counties Trophy and National Counties T20 competitions.
Having already spent time with the Foxes Second XI this summer, Rizvi now links up with Alfonso Thomas’ squad ahead of the Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign.
