Gilchrist Joins Foxes on Two-Match Loan

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce the signing of fast bowler Nathan Gilchrist on loan from Warwickshire for the next two Rothesay County Championship fixtures.

The 26-year-old joins the Foxes to provide additional injury cover within the squad and will link up with Alfonso Thomas’ side ahead of this week’s clash with Somerset at Uptonsteel Grace Road.

This loan does not include the Metro Bank One Day Cup final.

Gilchrist joined Warwickshire ahead of the 2026 season following five years with Kent, where he established himself as an exciting pace-bowling option in the county game.

The right-arm quick also gained international recognition during the winter of 2025/26, representing England Lions.

His most recent First-Class appearance came against Somerset, where Gilchrist claimed four wickets, and he now joins the Foxes for an important period of the County Championship campaign.

Gilchrist said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Leicestershire for the next couple of games and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to get some Championship cricket under my belt and hopefully I can come in, contribute to the team and help the lads finish the season strongly.”

Director of Cricket Claude Henderson said: “We’re really pleased to be able to bring Nathan into the group for the next two games.

“He’s a high-quality fast bowler who has already shown what he can do at First-Class level, and his involvement with England Lions speaks to the quality he possesses.

“We’ve got two important Championship games coming up and we feel Nathan will add real quality to our bowling group. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Leicestershire and seeing what he can contribute.”

Gilchrist is available for selection immediately and will wear number 18 during his time with the Foxes.
