Leicestershire Women Fall Short Against Derbyshire

Leicestershire Women fell to a 30-run defeat against Derbyshire Falcons Women in an entertaining contest at Uppingham School, after Derbyshire posted 272-8 from their 50 overs.

Frances Lonsdale led Derbyshire's innings with an excellent 106, while Caitlin Chissell was the pick of the Leicestershire bowlers with 3-54.

In reply, Sophie Grayson led the Leicestershire fightback with an impressive 84 from 94 balls, including 14 fours and a six. Hannah Whitfield also battled hard, finishing unbeaten on 48.

Despite their efforts, Leicestershire were eventually bowled out for 242 in 47.5 overs, falling 30 runs short.
