With just two Rothesay County Championship fixtures remaining, Leicestershire have one final opportunity to make home advantage count as they welcome Hampshire to the Uptonsteel Grace Road in a must-win Division One clash.

Both sides currently occupy the relegation places, with Leicestershire sitting ninth and Hampshire tenth. The Foxes hold a 24-point advantage over their visitors, making this encounter crucial in the battle to avoid the drop.

Leicestershire are boosted by the return of Ben Green, who remains the club’s leading wicket-taker in red-ball cricket this season. The all-rounder has claimed 30 wickets at an average of 26.73 and will be eager to make an immediate impact.

Hampshire, meanwhile, will look to their talisman Kyle Abbott. The experienced seamer is Division One’s leading wicket-taker, having taken an outstanding 57 wickets at an average of just 15.45 this campaign.

With so much at stake and only two matches left in the season, both sides know that victory could prove decisive in their fight for survival.

SQUAD:
Ben Green makes his first appearance in the squad since our One-Day Cup semi-final on 16 August.

Alex Green misses out after being substituted at the start of day two against Somerset, meaning he remains unavailable under the seven-day concussion protocol.

Josh Hull has also been withdrawn from the squad as part of workload management plans.

Ian Holland, Tom Scriven and Josh Davey all return to the squad. The trio were not included in last week's playing XI in order to recover from minor injuries sustained against Nottinghamshire.

There is no doubt that one eye has been firmly fixed on 20 September, with squad rotation playing a key role in recent weeks.
