Ruan de Swardt to Return to South Africa Following Quad Injury

Leicestershire Foxes can confirm that Ruan de Swardt will return to South Africa after scans confirmed the extent of the quad injury he sustained during the Metro Bank One Day Cup defeat to Notts Outlaws on 28 July.
The all-rounder suffered the injury while bowling and was forced to leave the field, with subsequent scans revealing the severity of the issue.
The 28-year-old made an immediate impact during his time at Uptonsteel Grace Road, producing a number of valuable performances with both bat and ball. Most notably, he struck a superb 126 against Lancashire at Uptonsteel Grace Road – the highest List A score of his career – alongside taking wickets and providing an important all-round presence in the side.
