Theo Marshall signs short-term Foxes contract

Leicestershire County Cricket Club is pleased to confirm that Academy prospect Theo Marshall has signed a month-long contract with the Foxes until the end of the 2026 season.
Marshall will provide additional cover for the senior squad during the final weeks of the campaign.
Marshall’s deal represents the latest step in his progression through the Leicestershire pathway, having first joined the Club at Under-16 level before spending the last three years as part of the Foxes Academy.
The youngster has also gained valuable experience in Second XI cricket this summer, making his first appearance of the season against Lancashire at Uptonsteel Grace Road.
Marshall will now link up with the senior squad for the remainder of the campaign after being rewarded for his continued development within the Club.
Speaking after signing his first contract with the Foxes, Marshall said: “It’s a really proud moment for me. I’ve been involved with Leicestershire since I was 16, so to now get the opportunity to sign a contract with the Club means a lot.
“The Academy has played a massive part in my development over the last three years and I’ve really enjoyed getting more experience with the Second XI this season.
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity and hopefully I can make the most of the next month, keep learning from the players and coaches around me and contribute wherever I can.”
Leicestershire Director of Cricket Claude Henderson said: “Theo is another young player who has come through our pathway and has continued to make really good progress over the last few years.
“He’s worked hard during his time in the Academy and we’ve been pleased with what we’ve seen from him in Second XI cricket this season.
“Giving opportunities to players who have developed within our system is really important to us, and Theo has earned the chance to spend the remainder of the season with the senior group.
“It’s another step in his development and we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the coming weeks.”
